Special Interest Tours at Highclere Castle, Egyptian Exhibition & Gardens
A new initiative for 2010 is to introduce a series of Special Interest Tours for visitors.
Highclere and its Estate have been occupied for over 1300 years and, therefore, provide
a fascinating insight into England’s landscape and building heritage.
Led by Lady Carnarvon and Highclere’s tour guides, workshops and tours will be
advertised on various cultural topics, amongst which we hope there will be
something of interest to everyone:
* Highclere’s Landscape and Walking Tour
History of Highclere Park from Anglo-Saxon to medieval times,
Capability Brown to today.
* Castle Gardens and Walking tour
Highclere’s Gardens and Trees.
* Egyptology Studio and Exhibition tour
An introduction to Hieroglyhs
An introduction to Egyptian Religion.
Detailed Exhibition tour
* Paintings at Highclere Castle
An introduction to key paintings and portraits.
The special interest lectures and tours will take place during the public opening
times in private rooms within the Castle.
Places will be limited and if you are
interested in finding out further information please e-mail Margery Goldsmith on
mgoldsmith@highclerecastle.co.uk
Dates will be arranged later in the year.
Please look out for more news which will be announced on this Castle website.
