Highclere Castle has been part of our family since the late seventeenth century and is still a much-loved home today.


We are delighted to be able to offer our unique home to the public, companies and romantic couples looking for a wedding venue who feel that the Castle and its beautiful grounds are suitable for their own special requirements.


Indeed, for as long as we can recall, the Castle has been full of interesting people from many parts of the world and is renowned for its warm welcome and hospitality. Our family is closely involved with the smooth running of events at Highclere to ensure the success of each occasion large and small.

Dame Maggie Smith & Hugh Bonneville lead the cast of Julian Fellowes’ major new drama series DOWNTON ABBEY.

ITV’s new costume drama series, Downton Abbey, written and created by Oscar-winning writer Julian Fellowes and made by Carnival Films for ITV will star Maggie Smith as Violet, Dowager Countess of Grantham, Hugh Bonneville as Robert, Earl of Grantham and Elizabeth McGovern as Robert’s wife, Cora, Countess of Grantham.

They will lead an all-star cast, which also includes: Penelope Wilton, Dan Stevens, Michelle Dockery, Jim Carter, Phyllis Logan, Lesley Nicol, Siobhan Finneran, Rob James Collier, Joanne Froggatt and Rose Leslie. Set in an Edwardian country house in 1912, Downton Abbey will portray the lives of the Crawley family and the servants who work for them...
